This chapter sums up what changed in Claude Desktop 2.0 compared with 1.x. It is a translation of the Chinese handbook chapter.
6. Summary
The 2.0 release marks a qualitative shift for the Claude desktop app and the CDS design spec, from a "presentation layer" to an "engineering-grade interaction foundation":
- Standardized structure: the loosely defined 30 components were expanded and standardized into 40 top-level
data-cdsnamespaces, with logic and styling fully decoupled; - Physics-based motion: 5 duration tokens, 3 cubic-bezier curves and 47 keyframes were fully established, and motion moved to the Compositor thread to remove the dropped-frame and heat bottlenecks of high-throughput streaming;
- Safer architecture: arbitrary folder organization was replaced by strict isolation of four physical execution environments, and the data visualization libraries now ship fully offline in the package.
All the facts from the analysis and the production reference code are complete and kept in the local knowledge base.
